Join Debra Winegarten as she launches "There's Jews in Texas?" winner of the 2011 Poetica Magazine national poetry contest.

Debra was as surprised as everyone else when her book won, as she is known primarily for her biographies of Texas women. She's been told that it's ridiculous for her to be a writer, leading a secluded life, as she likes nothing better than being in front of an audience, public speaking, and selling the heck out of her latest book.

Come laugh with her as she recounts what it was like growing up as one of the few Jews in her North Dallas elementary school; what it was like to have a mother both famous and infamous; and share a nosh with her while she celebrates her latest book -- you'll laugh, you'll cry, and you'll support BookWoman, all at the same time -- what's not to like about that?

It's time for another PEACE FROM THE PORCH song swap at Bookwoman! Welcome back Stacy Lieder, and welcome our newest compadre, Noelle Hampton to the round. It's acoustic, intimate, and inspiring. We'll be busking PFTP3 CDs, but you will definitely want to leave with Noelle's disk, too.

"Peace from the Porch, Vol. 3." CD features multiple acts that donated their music to help fund organizations that work with at-risk and abused children.

Come support your independent bookstore in Austin, TX.
Kid Friendly. Free will donation to the artists.

Christy Claxton is your host.
