OPEN MIC POETRY featuring SUSAN ROGERS and hosted by CINDY HUYSER Our featured reader, poet Susan Rogers of Georgetown, Texas is currently working on a chapbook about the ancient Indian / Tibetan Goddess Tara. She holds an English degree with a specialization in poetry from Northwestern University, as well as degrees in interdisciplinary arts and music, and has lived in Chicago and Albuquerque. She is a member of the Austin Poetry Society (APS) and a regular participant in the Austin International Poetry Festival, where her work has appeared in several anthologies. The winner of Northwestern University’s Edwin L. Shumann award and several APS awards, Susan has led writing development workshops for poets and medical students. When she is not writing poetry, Susan enjoys playing the piano and taking walks in the park. Every second Thursday, hosted by Cindy Huyser. A round- robin-style Open Mic follows the featured reading. We are a very diverse and supportive venue. Bring some poems to share!
