Book Launch for Growing Up Weird with Ann Locasio
Book Launch + Reading & Signing & Q&A
Growing Up Weird: A Memoir
with local author Ann Locasio
Come enjoy the launch of Growing Up Weird by Ann Locasio, new Austin author.
Comedy abounds as Locasio recounts what it's like to grow up in the four countries of Wales, Germany, England, and Brazil, with visits to a family back in Indiana who put the fun back in dysfunctional. Have punch and cookies while you hear about the great-grandmother whose pants fall down in public but who never gets embarrassed, and Aunt Pauline, one of very few female motorcycle gang members of the 1950s. There’s cousin Brian, who pays for dinner one night by saying, “I’m buying tonight because it’s cheap. You can pay next time when it’s expensive.” You may hear about strange animals such as the reptiles in a Brazilian snake farm, a neurotic French poodle, or a homosexual puppy. You may even encounter a story from Locasio’s catalogue of jokes that cannot be told in polite company. On top of all that, look forward to a book signing. It will be a night to remember.
