Virgin of Guadalupe- Candles and Celebration: Dec 13
A Program in BookWoman's monthly "Getting to Know the Goddess" Series
Virgin of Guadalupe Candles and Celebration
Join us for the story of the Virgin of Guadalupe, followed by decorating glass candles or making cards with Her image and symbols. If you want to bring images for the candle, copy on regular paper, not card stock. (Cards are too heavy for decoupage.) All supplies will be provided, including glass candles and images.
We will conclude the evening with “La: Morenita: Litany of Our Lady of Guadalupe,” a contemporary litany, prayed every year at the US/Mexican border on her feast day, December 12, and especially relevant now. The litany ends: “Mother of borders and liminal possibility, you came to us pregnant with a new race of people. Give birth once again to a new race of lovers and peacemakers.”
