A Journey Into Feminist Spirituality with Austin theatre director, producer, and witch, Bonnie Cullum


Bonnie Cullum practices and teaches magical, ritual, and theatrical arts. She founded The VORTEX in Austin in 1988. In 2009, Cullum was honored by the Austin Critics’ Table and inducted into the Austin Arts Hall of Fame. Her experience also includes teaching at 17 WitchCamps as well as dozens of classes and workshops. One of the founders of Tejas Web, she has organized and priestessed many camps, rituals, classes, restoratives, intensives, and gatherings.  


Cullum received an MFA in Directing from the University of Texas at Austin and a BA in Theatre from the University of Kansas. She writes, directs, shapes, and produces interactive events, ritual theatre, original musicals, CyberOperas, and performance art, receiving more than 100 awards for artistic excellence. She has directed more than 60 world premieres as well as dozens of published works. 


Thrice honored as Austin’s Best Director by the Austin Chronicle, Cullum has been nominated for dozens of outstanding directing awards and received B. Iden Payne Awards for Best Director. Cullum is internationally recognized for her experimental productions, her ritual skills, and her advocacy of cutting-edge artists
