Tara Tuesdays: I Am Tara, Rainbow Light Goddess
A Program in BookWoman’s New ”Tara Tuesdays” series
I am Tara, Rainbow Light Goddess
With the Tara Dance we celebrate the Divine Feminine in the form of the Noble Tara. We dance as an expression of homage, embodiment and meditation. By embody Tara’s 21 Qualities and displaying her rainbow-colored Manifestations playfully and devotedly, we meditate on ourselves, each other and our environment in our highest form. For who is Tara but the highest expression of our true, enlightened nature?
We will explore Tara's colors and qualities from Prema Dasara's sacred dance lineage that draws from the Tibetan meditation tradition, as well as classical Indian, Nepalese and Balinese dance. Combining the focus of body, speech and mind, the Tara dances are simple to learn and profound in their ability to empower dancers to manifest their enlightened qualities. Healing happens in practicing the Tara Dance through a profound connection to ourselves and to others: as we dance heart to heart and mind to mind, we are able to let go of what holds us back in our lives. We see our enlightened nature reflected in the faces and movements of the women dancing next to us--all beloved, all rainbow light goddesses. The concentric circles of the dance and the spiral we move through reveal our interdependence and the power we generate when we move through life together. Om Tare!
No experience necessary. Please wear comfortable, colorful clothes (yes, black and white are colors, too) that inspire you, or bring an adornment of beauty, like a scarf or a piece of jewelry. And if you have anything with rainbow colors, feel free to wear that. $10 suggested donation.
